(C) Subsidy Programme

Subsidy on Small Tractors:
-
Under Centrally Sponsored Macro-Management
Scheme in which sharing pattern
between Union Government and State Government
is in the ratio of 90:10,all
category of farmers are eligible foe subsidy
on purchase of small tractors
upto 35 P.T.O. Horsepower upto Rs.30, 000/-
subject to maximum of
25% of the cost Since availability of tractors
in Madhya Pradesh is
comparatively low, farmers are coming forward
in large number to
avail the benefit of this programme .The programme
is tied with institutional
credit.
2. Subsidy on Power
Tillers : - Power tiller is a small tractor
which can be used as a prime mower for operating
different farm machines like rotavator, seed drill
etc in small fields, gardens and orchards. This
is a very useful equipment for small farmers who
cannot afford a tractor .On purchase of power
tiller, subsidy upto Rs.30, 000/- subject to maximum
of 25% of the cost is admissible to all category
of farmers .The scheme is gradually picking up
in rice growing areas and in areas where farmers
have orchards. 3. Subsidy
on Improved Agricultural Implements text- Under
Centrally Sponsored Macro-Management Scheme, subsidy
upto 25 % of the cost on improved bullock drawn
and power operated implements and farm machines
is admissible to all category of farmers. Under
this programme, nearly 1.50 lakh bullock drawn
and hand operated improved agricultural equipments
arebeing distributed to the farmers of the State
annualy, with the result we have
been able to reduce human drudgery and enhancing production
and productivity
besides reducing the cost of cultivation. The State is proud
to be at the top in distribution ofimproved agricultural
equipments in the country. Some of the
improved agricultural implements, which are included in the
subsidy programme, are;

threshers, 8.Reapers,9.Mini
dal mill, 10.Mini rice mill etc.

Annexure-3.
All
category of farmers are entitled for this subsidy.

(D) Quality check of Sprinkler and Drip Irrigation systems:
Under departmental schemes, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems
are being procured bythe farmers against subsidy.
Field officers posted under this Directorate carry
out field inspections and ensure that equipments supplied are
of prescribed standards and confirm to BIS specifications.
In case ofsub-standard supplies, the action is taken against the suppliers.
(E) Developing Prototypes and Manufacturing of Improved
Agricultural Implements: -
Under this Directorate, there are 4 major and 4 minor workshops,located at following places;
Major workshop
* Bhopal
* Gwalior
* Jabalpur
* Satna
Minor Workshop
* Indore
* Vidisha
* Shivpuri
* Khandwa
In these workshops, besides repairing of departmental machinery,the
prototypes of improved agricultural implements,
suitable for particular region is undertaken.
Besides this activity, the manufacturing of improved
bullock drawn and hand operated agricultural implements
is also undertaken. These implements are provided to the farmers against subsidy programme.
(F) Training to Village Artisans on manufacturing of agricultural
implements: -
In order to upgrade the skill of village artisans on manufacture
of agricultural implements by applying the modern
techniques, a training programme is being run
by the Directorate at Jabalpur in coordination
with Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya,
Jabalpur.So far 80 village artisans have been
trained under the programme.
