National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS)
 

National Agriculture Insurance Scheme is implemented in the State since Rabi 1999-2000. This scheme is open for loanee as well as non loanee both type of farmers.

At present, unit of insurance is Tehsil, but State Govt. has decided to lower it down to "PATWARI HALKA" from Kharif 2003-2004 for Major crops like Paddy, Tur, Soyabean, in Kharif 2003 and Wheat, Gram & Mustard in Rabi 2003-04. For other crops the Tehsil unit will be continued till the 5 years yield data for lower unit will be available.

Objective:

To undertake and study of applied and operational research in problem areas of agricultural marketing

To impart training, to various levels of functionaries involved in agricultural marketing activities.

To offer consultancy services to the State and Central Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Cooperatives etc; in formulation of Projects, preparing Master Plans for States, Export Institutions, Traders and Farmers


 
 
Surajdhara Scheme and Annapurna Scheme
 

To meet out the growing demand of high yielding improved seed two schemes namely

a)     ANNAPURNA  and

b)     SURAJDHARA

Each of these schemes has these 3 components

1)     Seed Exchange.-

2)     Seed Self Reliance.

3)     Seed Production.

These schemes have been introduced in 1999-2000. Under these schemes foundation seed of various crops are provided to the cultivators for 1/10 of their holding, so that for next year's cultivator will have good quality seed for 100% of the area.

OBJECTIVE: The objective is to provide seeds of improved and high yielding varieties for cereals, oilseeds and pulse crops, through replacement of old varieties. It shall cover small and marginal farmers of ST and SC categories.

Special Millet Demonstration
 

Objective:

Special Millet demonstration is being implemented with the objective to show the superiority of certified seed over local/traditional uncertified seed, to introduce newly evolved varieties to the extension workers and farmers, and to Popularise the cultivation of recently released high yielding varieties.
